Sha Tin Methodist College has once again been accredited as a Net Zero Demonstration School by the UNESCO Hong Kong Association for the 2025–2026 school year. Our school is committed to promoting values education for sustainable development by integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the curriculum and encouraging students to adopt low-carbon lifestyles and contribute to a greener campus.
Throughout the academic year, students analysed various sets of school data collected over the past year and applied modelling techniques to evaluate our school’s carbon reduction efforts. Through their dedication and achievements, our school successfully renewed its Net Zero Demonstration School accreditation and received recognition at the United Nations World Environment Day Hong Kong Action cum Net Zero School Project Certification Ceremony.
During the ceremony, our Principal, Ms. Cheung Chui-yee, also participated in a cross-sector forum, sharing our school’s experiences and insights in advancing carbon neutrality through school leadership, teaching and learning initiatives, and community partnerships.
